WSOP Online Recap: Five New Champions Shine at GGPoker
The WSOP Online series at GGPoker continues to deliver thrilling poker action, with five new events reaching their nail-biting conclusions. Thousands of players from around the globe logged in to compete for coveted WSOP gold bracelets, chasing poker glory and life-changing prize money. As always, GGPoker proved to be the stage for unforgettable moments and intense competition. In this edition, we’ll break down the highlights from Events #25 through #29 and see how the latest champions claimed their place in poker history!
Event #25: Superstack Turbo Bounty No Limit Hold’em
Event #25, the $525 Superstack Turbo Bounty Hunter No-Limit Hold’em, drew 2,911 participants and grew the prize pool to $1,455,500, as poker’s elite battled it out for a shot at the bracelet and some massive bounties. The bounty format, as expected, adds a layer of strategy and excitement, as players balance the reward for knocking each other versus survival towards a bigger payou in the money.
After 8.25 hours of intense action, Russia’s ‘Durdy’ who emerged as the champion, collecting a total of $129,787.03 in prize money, which included $55,450.64 in bounties. The aggressive style of ‘Durdy’ paid off as he climbed to the top, fending off stiff competition in the final stages. In second place, ‘L Kalebashvili’ from Georgia took home $72,355.22 plus $16,376.97 in bounties, with Thailand’s ‘JWNomad’ finishing third, earning $57,477.42 and $20,765.94 in bounties.
Event #26: Heads Up NLH Championship
Event #26, was a $10,000 buy-in No Limit Hold’em Heads Up Championship. What made this event a bit unique was the limited number of seats, 128 maximum, and there were no late entries. All 128 spots were filled by the time the tournament began, creating a total prize pool of $1,241,600 which would be shared amongst the final 16 with the bottom 8 receiving just 2% of the prize money and 1st earning almost 30%. This event showcased some of the best high stakes players in the world as players vied for the coveted gold bracelet.
After a grueling final table, it was China’s ‘Huang Wenjie’ who stood victorious, earning $366,892.80 and the WSOP bracelet. The runner up, having battled valiantly, was ‘Mehdi Chaoui’, who secured a respectable $220,135.68 while flying the Vietnam flag. The 2 semi finalist, who both earned $122,297.60, were ‘Ilia Kuteinikov’ of Russia and ‘Goran Mandic’ from Croatia.
Event #27: Mystery Bounty Pot Limit Omaha
The elite poker strategist came out for Event #27, the $1,050 Mystery Bounty Pot Limit Omaha. Featuring 1,069 of the world’s top online omaha poker players, this event generated a prize pool of $1,069,000. The thrill of winning a bracelet in one of the more strategic poker games attracted a who’s who of online poker talent, with big payouts on the line and a $100,000 top bounty, the battles were intense throughout the event.
When the dust settled, ‘anipantra’ from Israel claimed victory, securing the prestigious bracelet, $81,026.42 in winnings plus $29,140 in collected bounties. Second place went to ‘kidrurim’, also from Israel who walked away with $75,763.22 including bounties, while Austria’s ‘Max Neugebauer’ took third place, $42,356.82 and collected $47,780 in bounty rewards. The biggest winner of the night was the well known Dutch pro who, while finishing 38th and yet again missing out on his first bracelet, earned $118,840 in bounties after finding the biggest mystery bounty of the event.
Event #28: WSOP Online Main Event
It was now time for the big one. The highlight of the World Series of Poker Online. Event #28, the Main Event. The history of this event gives it the honor of being the biggest online poker tournament of all time. It was set records which it has surpassed and this year was going to be no different. Offering a $25,000,000 guarantee, this was the granddaddy of online poker tournaments. A tournament where everyone wanted to win, and anyone could.
A total of 17 Day 1 flights led the 6,146 players into day 2. The Day 1’s had a $5,000 buy-in which satellite tournaments ran constantly, allowing anyone who wanted a chance the opportunity to play in the single most prestigious online poker tournament. From the 6,146 runners, just 620 survived to make Day 2 and the money that offered a minimum payout of $10,081.71, just over double the buy-in.
In the end, including the overnight break where the 9 final table players rested and studied before the live stream, it took 28.25 hours to declare a victor, and it was one of the most exciting streams in GGPoker history. The chip lead was traded around the table multiple times and there were some of the most incredible suck outs this poker pundit has ever seen, not to mention a stretch of 2 hours at the final table without a knock out.

Event #29: GGMillion$ Super High Rollers Championship
The final event of the past week, was Event #29, the GGMillion$ Super High Rollers Championship. This $25,000 buy-in WSOP Online Bracelet event, drew a field of 140 elite poker players who paid a total of 230 entries, creating a prize pool of $5,635,000. Known for its super high buy-in, the field of players that assembled were some of the most studied and strategic minds the poker world has. The deepstack format added even more depth to the tables as the play slowly whittled down to a final table and eventual winner.
After an intense final table, ‘forzaitalia’ came out on top, claiming the bracelet and $1,122,201.84 in prize money. Second place went to two-time WSOP bracelet winner, Chris Brewer, who earned $865,335.70 for their incredible play and deep run, while well known pro, Bryn Kenney took home $667,265.33 for finishing in the final podium spot. The big buy-in deepstack format once again proved to be a true test of endurance and skill.
2024 WSOP Online Bracelet Race Heats Up!
The WSOP Online Bracelet Count remains a key storyline in the series. As of now, Germany continues to dominate the leaderboard with 4 first-place finishes, 3 second-place finishes, and 2 third-place finishes. They lead the way with over $6,500,000 in total earnings, closely followed by the Russian Federation and Israel.
