The GG Spotlight – Super MILLION$ Week
The next edition of the Super MILLION$ Week starts in just a couple of days and we realized that you might not know anything about it…so let’s get you caught up.
The April 2023 edition of the Super MILLION$ Week is set to begin on April 2nd. It will run through April 10th. A total of 58 high roller events offering $20,000,000 in guarantees including Event #1, the $525 KICKOFF Bounty Hunters with a $1.5 million guarantee, and the $5M Super MILLION$ Main Event and its 7 Day 1’s. And buy-ins ranging from $525 up to $25,500 events. There is a good reason the Super MILLION$ Week is now considered the best online high roller event and the buy-ins compared to guarantees is just part of that.
Now, while this tournament series does have some of the largest buy-ins in online poker, it also offers some of the biggest guarantees, all centered around the regular Sunday offering, a $10K Super MILLION$ tournament.
History of the Super MILLION$
One of the earliest iterations of the Super MILLION$ came back in May of 2020. Part of the WSOP Online Circuit series, we hosted 2 high roller events, the $25,500 High Roller Championship and the $10K PLO HR Championship. Even with the lofty guarantees offered ($10M and $1M respectively) the tournaments were rousing successes, smashing the guarantees with ease. And just 1 month later the regular Sunday offering of the Super MILLION$ tournament was born.
June 14th, 2020 marked the beginning of a new age as the first ever Sunday Super MILLION$ tournament launched. This new addition to the regular schedule attracted just under 200 players to its $2 Million guarantee. The inaugural event final table was won by ‘grebnrets’ who earned $362,835 for the victory.
The original plan for the Super MILLION$ was to stream it on a delay with the cards open. Unfortunately, there were technical issues the first week so it is lost forever. Week 2, was streamed successfully on Twitch, and starting week 3, the stream was uploaded to YouTube as an ongoing record of final tables. The Super MILLION$ Show has continued to be streamed weekly and is now 133 episodes long, making it one of the longest running regular poker streams anywhere.
The Super MILLION$ Show
The Super MILLION$ continued to grow over the following months and at the end of February 2021, we launched what would become the first of a regularly occurring series, The Super MILLION$ Week.
The inaugural Super MILLION$ Week saw nearly 22,000 players buy-in to the 31 events and had over $35 Million awarded to the players. The response to the series was incredible and we knew instantly that this was going to happen again.
Over the years, between the Super MILLION$ Week and the regular Sunday Super MILLION$ tournament, over $500,000,000 has been won and shared amongst the players. Some have earned life changing amounts, while others have earned tens of thousands.
The 8th edition of this incredible series is set to start this Sunday. Satellites are running and seats are open. Guaranteed 6-figure prize pools every day, a $5 Million guaranteed Main Event (the Main Event does count toward the yearlong SuperRankings Leaderboard), and literally over $20 Million guaranteed in just one week.
