Leon Hsu, originally from Taiwan, began his poker journey in the bustling poker rooms of Skycity in New Zealand. He quickly realized that the game required more skill than he initially thought and dove into learning by reading classic poker books such as Small Stakes Hold'em: Winning Big with Expert Play and Super System. This newfound knowledge helped him excel in the local poker room and sparked his love for the game.

Hsu also significantly promoted poker in Asia as the representative of a popular poker reality show in China, streaming online with live analysis of Libratus, a poker playing AI, versus human contest.
Throughout the past few years, Hsu has dedicated himself to live tournament poker and has recorded a consistent stream of cashes. In 2015, he placed 6th in the APPT Player of the Year race and had a string of successful tournament runs, including a victory in a Macau Poker Cup Deepstack event and a 5th-place finish in the ANZPT Main Event. In addition, he won a PLO event at the ACOP festival and ended the year with a 2nd place finish in the ACOP 6 max event. Hsu continues to make a name for himself in the poker world and is a force to be reckoned with at the felt.
